Winter Solstice Gathering

Winter Solstice Gathering

Come! Let's celebrate the winter solstice,  gather in community around the fire to call in the light together!

Spend the day in community crafting a mullein and beeswax torch to honor the return of the light and bring a sense of warmth to the darkest time of year.

We will spend our time together in ritual space ( drumming, journaling, sharing) and creative process crafting a handmade reminder that light returns, even in the depths of winter.

This is an outdoors torch making event, a time to infuse our torches with intentions for the winter season; we will not burn the torches. Participants will leave with a torch to use in their own personal, ceremonial rituals. Mullein Stalks, beeswax and herbs provided.

Austin Balfany believes healing has always come through connection—whether that's with himself, with other people, with where he comes from, or with the land around him. Austin tries to bring honesty, humor, and a sense of realness to what he does, and wants you to know that however you show up, all of you is welcome here.

Austin is completing his graduate training in Nature-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). His work is rooted in the belief that the body is inherently wise, that emotion is a form of intelligence, and that healing involves tending to the places where connection and disconnection live within us. Austin integrates EMDR, somatic awareness, mindfulness, nature-based practices, experiential processes, and parts-based work within a trauma-informed and LGBTQ+ affirming approach. Read more.
