This live online training is for you if you are a counselor or healer wanting a deeper understanding of the body-mind connection and the many ways of actively tapping into its wisdom during the therapeutic process.

Our comprehensive, nine-month Somatic Soul-Based Trauma Training provides guidance on listening to and trusting the information you are receiving in your own body as you work with clients. You’ll also learn how to work with your client’s trauma and attachment issues from a holistic perspective.

Who This Training is For

This training is for counselors, healers, and helping professionals who want to deepen their understanding and practice of effective somatic and soul-based therapy tools and interventions for trauma, attachment and nervous system regulation. Intro to the neurophysiology of trauma

Short-term interventions and pendulation

  • Resourcing as a critical skill

Vicarious trauma and energetic self-care

  • Increasing self-awareness around your own body-mind-energy connection

Long-term interventions

Short-term interventions and pendulation - Participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate somatic leadership

  • Describe resourcing interventions & theory

  • Utilize pendulation and titration with practice clients

  • Facilitate resourcing with somatic awareness with practice clients

Vicarious trauma and energetic self-care - Participants will be able to:

  • Assess own state of being and resource self

  • Develop a self-care routine 

  • Identify sequencing during practice sessions

Long-term interventions - Participants will be able to:

  • Recognize when to utilize a long term intervention with a client

  • Facilitate the following interventions:

    • Inserting warning

    • It is over and you survived

    • Bringing in safety, protection, support

    • Removing danger

    • Imaginal ending

    • Sequencing the incomplete defensive responses

Boundaries - Participants will be able to: 

  • Identify the role of boundaries in trauma rupture and trauma repair

  • Assess their own physical boundary and facilitate a client in identifying theirs

  • Articulate the boundary

  • Identify and repair a ruptured boundary

Attachment: internal and external - Participants will be able to:

  • Define attachment

  • Identify attachment styles

  • Describe mindfulness in the role of attachment

  • Illustrate external attachment skills: being the “good enough parent”

  • Explain self-attachment through self-acknowledgment and compassion

Soul-based, lineage and energetic interventions - Participants will be able to:

  • Identify family beliefs and agreements

  • Explain how to shift energetic contracts

  • Describe how to let go of energy that is not yours

  • Articulate how to return responsibility to where it belongs

Psycho-education skills - Participants will be able to:

  • State the role of psychoeducation

  • Describe the how and why of psychoeducation

  • Articulate somatic and energetic health and wounding

Registration process: To register for the program, please click the apply button and schedule a zoom call with our Program Director. The purpose of this call is to answer questions you may have about the program and to help determine if the program will meet your training goals.

Cancellation policy: A deposit is required in order to reserve your spot on the roster. If you enroll in a payment plan, your first monthly payment must be initiated prior to the course start date in order to gain access to the online training materials and complete your enrollment in the course. 

Deposits are non-refundable after August 8, 2025 and there is no tuition refund after September 18, 2025.  If you cancel your registration prior to August 8, 2025, we will refund all but $275.  Regarding all payment plans, our policy is that if circumstances arise that require you to exit the training during the course, while we sympathize with your situation, we require you to fulfill your financial commitment. 

If SNTI cancels the program for any reason, your deposit and any other fees will be returned.

Attendance requirements for receiving CE credit: You must attend at least 17 of the 20 live sessions in order to receive any CE credit for the program. Attendance will be recorded each session and you must be present for the entire session to receive credit. No partial credit will be awarded for sessions that were not attended in full. There is no make up work so please make sure you can make each live session if you would like to earn CE.

About the Course Creator and Your Facilitator

With over 3 decades of experience in outdoor education, counseling, teaching, and rites of passage guiding, Katie Asmus, MA, BMP, LPC, incorporates present-moment awareness, relationship to the natural world, body-mind connection and ceremonial practices to support people in more deeply and compassionately connecting to themselves, others, and the earth.

Katie has worked in the fields of mental health and healing since 1995, and received her MA degree in Somatic Psychology from The Naropa University where she taught graduate students for 20 years. In addition to working directly with clients, she has taught and trained over 10,000 students nationally and internationally, both online and in-person in somatic and nature-based interventions. She has also presented her work on a wide variety of platforms, including journals, podcasts, conference presentations, and keynote addresses.

Influenced by a wide variety of somatic theories and modalities, all of Katie's work is facilitated through a holistic body-mind-spirit lens. She believes that as humans, we are innately wired to move toward health and wholeness, and when we understand how to tap into this organismic wisdom within our beings, this is the key toward healing trauma. She is known for exclaiming that “Inner work is world peace work.”
