About Austin Balfany

About Austin Balfany

My name is  Austin Balfany (he/him); I believe healing happens through connection—connection to self, to community, to lineage, and to the living world that holds us. I value honesty, humor, spaciousness, and real human presence.

All parts of you are welcome here.

I am currently completing my graduate training in Nature-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University. My work is rooted in the belief that the body is inherently wise, that emotion is a form of intelligence, and that we heal by tending to the places where connection and disconnection live inside us. I integrate somatic awareness, mindfulness, wilderness therapy, experiential processes, and parts-based work, along with a trauma-informed and LGBTQ+ affirming lens.

My own grounding comes through fire tending, backpacking, climbing, long days on the water, and the slow rituals of community building. I’ve spent years teaching and guiding youth and families in wilderness settings, and I am passionate about weaving queer resilience, rites of passage, and embodied connection into my therapeutic work.

I believe that our inner landscape mirrors the outer one, that choice is an act of empowerment, and that joy is a brilliant and radical force. If you feel called to explore your inner terrain, I would be honored to meet you there.
