About Kelsey Loupy

About Kelsey Loupy, PhD.

Hi, my name is Kelsey. I am a physiologist and psychotherapist with my feet planted somewhere between the measurable and immeasurable. For many years, I studied the role of nature in mental health, in particular how the gut microbiome affects stress resilience. I have also supported curriculum development for psychedelic-assisted therapy training programs in CO and beyond.

I am devoted to the full and complex experience of being alive, and as a therapist, I offer space for you to explore your humanity with curiosity and compassion. My approach is both relational and somatic, which means that we will meet the unique wisdom of your unique body.

I believe that slowing down and connecting with our emotional body is a radical expression of liberation. When we give ourselves the space to be in touch with what is, what really is, we can find greater awareness, clarity, and choice.  I combine a mixture of somatic, attachment, existential, mindfulness, parts work, and soul work with nature.

My work is grounded in ecophysiology, the understanding that our human bodies are part of the larger ecosystem of Earth. Our physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness is literally interdependent with other beings on this planet, human and nonhuman alike. The foundations for my therapeutic orientation include

  • You are whole and complete as a biological, alive organism.

  • You are innately connected to the web of life.

  • Your emotions are intelligence.

  • Your health is dynamic, and regulation means flow within you.

  • Transformation is always happening within you, which we might call the life-death-life cycle.

  • You need nourishment to thrive.

My own spiritual practices include time with the nonhuman world: rafting, backpacking, bikepacking, and solos into the desert. I incorporate wilderness immersions as part of my therapeutic work, and I offer integration support for folks returning from big outdoor experiences.

If you are feeling called to embark on this great journey together, I will be honored to join you.
