About Kelsey Loupy
About Kelsey Loupy, PhD.
Hi, my name is Kelsey, and I believe in the power of relationships to support personal and collective wellbeing. I value safe, real, vulnerable, and present connection. There is enough space for all parts of you, and I invite you here.
I am a student, teacher, scientist, and developing counselor with my feet planted somewhere between the measurable and immeasurable. After years of researching and embodying the body-mind connection, I decided to go back to school for Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy at Naropa University.
My approach to therapy is primarily body-centered, which means that I trust the unique wisdom of your unique body. And you are a biological body, which can mean many things. A few of them might include
You are whole and complete as you are
Your emotions are intelligence
You need nourishment to thrive
You are innately connected to the web of life
Transformation is always happening within you, which we might call the life-death-life cycle
Your body carries deep evolutionary wisdom. By slowing down and bringing gentle awareness, we can explore what connects you to your aliveness.
Imagine wandering down the trail of your soul. This trail is safe, you are the guide, and I am with you. Together, we can identify emotions or areas of life that feel “overgrown,” “blocked,” or “lost.” We can follow the body’s internal map toward what feels good– resourcing, relieving, empowering, or fulfilling. I combine a mixture of attachment, existential, parts work, mindfulness, and nature-based therapy modalities to help you listen, remember your instincts, and find your way. If you want to, we can take our therapy sessions outside.
I feel my own sense of peace, resilience, and spiritual connection when I am adventuring outside, for example backpacking, bike touring, and rafting. I incorporate these activities and other types of wilderness quests into my therapeutic work, and I offer integration support for folks returning from big life experiences.
I believe that our outer wilderness reflects our inner wilderness, choice is a sign of health, and joy is a radical expression in an often oppressive world. If you are feeling called to embark into your inner landscape, I will be honored to join you on this great journey.
