About Kathryn Patrick Butts
Kathryn Patrick Butts, LCSW (she/her/hers)
I am glad you have found your way here! I am a licensed clinical social worker with nearly twenty years of experience supporting people through life’s most painful and transformative moments. My clinical training began with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which works to help people navigate overwhelming emotions and stuck behavioral patterns by cultivating mindfulness and teaching the skills needed to build a life worth living. While I no longer practice DBT exclusively, I bring many things forward from this training; most importantly, the belief that within every single human—no matter how “broken” we may feel—there is a deep well of wisdom that will guide us through our darkest times, and offer us a path toward healing, freedom, and sustainable joy. Connecting with this inherent wisdom is what I believe the work of therapy is all about.
In therapy, I invite you to reconnect with this inner wisdom by attuning to your body, your emotions, and your relationship with the natural world. Sessions may weave together somatic practices, mindfulness, and nature-based experiences, creating space for new insight and deeper connection. Whether we meet indoors, outdoors, or virtually, my goal is to help you feel safe, grounded, and supported as you navigate your path.
I will bring warmth, humor, compassion, and curiosity into the work we do together. Clients often come to me seeking to heal from trauma, find their way through the darkness of grief and loss, or navigate a significant life transition. And sometimes they are simply wanting to feel more whole and at home within themselves. However you arrive, I’ll walk beside you as you find clarity, strength, and connection. Together, we can cultivate the healing and freedom for which you’ve been holding out hope.
Outside of my work I spend time with my partner and two adolescent kiddos, often out on hikes, playing in the river, or camping in the woods. I love reading, watching the birds, gardening, and working in my yard. I am also an artist and spend a lot of my free time creating and finding ways to express myself through poetry, textiles (quilting, fabric art, weaving, crocheting), and my newest hobby of woodworking.
