Greetings! I am so pleased you are here! Allow me to introduce myself. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have worked in the field of social work and psychotherapy for nearly twenty years. My clinical training was largely in a treatment model called Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which works to help reduce the suffering associated with extreme emotional pain or behavioral patterns, through teaching skills and helping people increase their capacity to remain present and mindful, even in life’s most difficult moments. While my clinical practice is no longer limited to DBT, I bring many things forward from this training into my current ways of working, most importantly the belief that within every single human—no matter how “broken” we may feel—there is a deep well of wisdom that will guide us through our darkest times, and offer us a path toward healing, freedom, and sustainable joy. Connecting with this inherent wisdom is what I believe the work of therapy is all about, and a journey I would love to take with anyone who is holding out for such a hope.

Key to connecting with this inner wisdom is cultivating a compassionate and supportive relationship between our minds, our bodies, and the natural world in which we live. It is for this reason that I seek to incorporate the practice of mindfulness (nonjudgmental attention), body awareness and somatic interventions, and the creativity offered to us by the wild world into every therapy session I conduct, be it online, in the office, or outside among the rocks and trees. As we become more attuned to our own bodies, attend to our physical needs, and seek to embody a deeper connection with ourselves, others, and with nature itself, we begin to see that path towards healing, freedom, and sustainable joy realized before us.

In my therapeutic relationships I bring warmth, understanding, compassion, humor, and fun! Whether you are seeking to heal from trauma, need help finding your way through the darkness of grief and loss, want support as you navigate a significant life transition, or just want to know yourself better and feel more whole and connected, I am eager to join alongside you on your path!

Outside of my work I spend time with my partner and two adolescent kiddos, often out on hikes, playing in the river, or camping in the woods. I love reading, watching the birds, gardening, and working in my yard. I am also an artist and spend a lot of my free-time creating and finding ways to express myself through poetry, textiles (quilting, fabric art, weaving, crocheting), and my newest hobby of woodworking.
